Sirius XM to broadcast Man United games

Satellite radio giant Sirius XM has agreed an exclusive, multi-year deal with Manchester United to broadcast live coverage of the club's matches in the US.

New York-based Sirius will be able to offer its subscribers live commentary of every Manchester United Premier League game via the club's official matchday broadcast.

Under the agreement, the station will also be able to stream the matches live online on the Sirius and XM Radio websites, along with the Sirius XM mobile application.

"This agreement demonstrates the enduring strength of the club internationally. We are very proud to have Sirius XM as our first satellite radio broadcaster in the US," said Manchester United chief executive David Gill.

"This is an exciting arrangement as we know how passionate our fans are in the United States and now they can catch all the match action live on Sirius and XM."

Scott Greenstein, Sirius XM's president and chief content officer, added: "Manchester United is one of the most famous and widely-followed sports franchises in all of the world and we're thrilled to offer our listeners access to every one of their Premier League matches.

"Fans across the US will be able to tune in to live play-by-play through their radios, through their computers and through the SiriusXM App. No matter where you are in the US, you won't have to miss a minute of Manchester United football throughout the EPL season."

Sirius XM, which recently agreed a new deal with 'shock jock' Howard Stern, will also air a new daily talk programme, called The Football Show, featuring expert analysis and interviews with football personalities, such as Sir Alex Ferguson.
