Not getting 1080p resolution

trying to set video resolution
set as hdmi but only gives me 1080i option and of course lower resolutions.
All the advertising states that its 1080p capable but I found manual in Technomate support that only lists 1080i--
anybody got a heads-up on this

All dependant on what receiver you have. Obviously having a Technomate only gives you 1080i option, whereas if you had a Vu+ Solo2 receiver it gives you the 1080p option.

Hi there, I have a VU+Solo2 just purchased and the screen output quality is not as good on VIX version 36 or 37. Do you know if there is a problem with the drivers for the HDMI output on the new release? Will this be resolved in the next release?

IIRC, the 7335 CPU had the restriction. Vu+ receivers with the same also fall into this category. The issue of 1080p broadcasts is another thing.

A Technomate, or any other brand, with a CPU that supports 1080P will do so.

Nothing to resolve as nothing has been changed.
Check your TV settings maybe.

There is no difference in resolution between 1080i and 1080p that is just marketing bull.
If you have a 1080p tv you will always have the full 1920x1080 displayed at all times from UK TV pictures.
the only difference between the 2 is if you output 1080i your tv will deinterlace the picture, if you output at 1080p the box deinterlaces the picture, most tvs will do a better job of deinterlacing than a cheap satellite box.
The confusion is that interlaced sends half the pixels to the screen in one frame and the other half in another frame so in any 2 rolling frames half the pixels are the same and half change, in a 1080i v 1080p comparison this can make the picture look a little soft, but that is irrelevant to UK broadcast tv as you can't recieve 1080p.

The question was about the stated options of the box in the advertising and what's actually available in the video menus. Is there anybody out there that can actually display 1080p from a twin-oe?

The CPU in Tm-twin only supports 1080p for media playback only.

4D Image I believe has the option for 1080p:

But its 1080p 24hz, last time I tested for live tv it was stuttery.

1080p is point less for satellite in any case, as has already been stated above, broadcasts are 1080i.
