no it don't work, it wont install.

i'll extract the ipk and see if it can be adapted


edit: just exracted it and its not even a complete skin it only has a skin.xml and no png or folders thats why iys not installing

its rubbish basically ipk incorrectly created

should have seen that comming actually by looking at its file size a skin can never be 61.4KB

Sorry guys, I have the skin in my pli image, it was download from the plugins button from the pli server. I didnt know how to create an IPK file so looked for the most recent from other forums.

If I copy the contents of the Skin from the skins folder and zip that up would that suffice or do I need to create an IPK file somehow.

rather than uploading a load of files, from another image I wanted to get the permission from the guy that wrote the skin. So emailed him asking if it was ok to upload his skin to another forum, this was his response
I did indeed make the Magic-(E)HD skins; thanks for your compliments!

No problem whatsoever to distribute the skin to other forums. Please inform me about which forums, so I can have a look there.

But be advised: the Magic-skins make use of several renderers that are only available in PLi-images, so a number of things will have to be removed form the skin on order to work properly (and to avoid green screens). That won't be difficult, but it is a timeconsuming job. I would suggest to run it, look at the crashreport to see what item has to be deleted, run it again etc. In case of problems I will be glad to give a hand, but I won't run other images (at least not for a longer period).
And please make clear to users that Magic-HD can be used if the TV has (max. 5.5%) overscan, while Magic-EHD makes use of the full screen (especially on "crowded" screens).

Attached you find the latest package: installing is not necessary, just FTP it to the right location (/usr/share/enigma2/....)

THe guy was kind enough to attach his latest zip file of the skin so I have uploaded that.

thanks mate. never realised how much there is to starting a skin from scratch! been at this for 4 days {and nights } and still have loads to do! good luck with the magic hd skin as is a nice one from what i remember from my days of pli

It vould be great if someone could incorporate the feature the MagicHD has vith an infobar/timebar in the cannelbrovser/bouqutets list,
Into a vix skin.
Or compile this skin for the great vix image.
Its the only feature I miss.

take a screenshot of the infobar/timebar you mention in channelbrowser and will see what i can do
