    2nd ( bedroom ) box suggestion

    Hi,
I currently have a Solo2 for our main decoder in the living room with twin tuners and SATA drive, works great and have no issues with it what so ever.

Our current decoder in the bedroom is a SkyBox F5... utter rubbish... freezes every 30 seconds or so and it needs replacing.

What i would like is a Linux decoder that i can run Haynes on and have teh same interface as my Solo2. I don't need twin tuners and nor do i need the ability to record or rewind. Just purely to watch TV on.

I don't want to be spending the type of money the Solo 2 cost so can anyone suggest a decent decoder ( sub £100 ) to use as a second box that meets my needs.

    Many Thanks

My requirements for a second box were similar to yours and I purchased a VU Zero and it is very good. It's a very small box and fits behind my wall mounted tv - out of sight and operated via the ir sensor.

If I was buying again and size was not an issue I think I would buy this

    VU+ Solo2 HDD Harmony 650 remote
    Mutant HD51 4K
    VU+ Zero
    Edision OS MINI

If you've a Solo2 already - a VU Zero complements this well, it's compact, can connect to your Solo2's HD without issue so you can share it, picture quality is good and it's pretty much as fast as the Solo 2. A bargain at 100 quid. I've the very same set up in my house and can say I'm 100% happy with it.

    I'll second that
