If you don't like it don't use it. Simple as that.

Sorry I've asked this before and didn't get an answer, is there a good to setting up fallback tuner, it is something i have never been able to get working, whilst Remote stream channel converter is quite easy to configure.

It just works out-of-the box. Fill in the details (IP & port) and activate.
The FB-tuner will be used when local tuners aren't available (either because they are busy or absent at all).
Just this morning I set FB on all my boxes (on ViX 3.2-016 as well as PLi and XTA) to use FB and they all work fine.

There seems to be lots lost in translation in this thread, i'm going to assume English isn't everyone's first language. Anyway I was referring to the hard drive path name shown in the recordings menu - sorry I was ranting about something completely unrelated to the thread.

Regardless, you're right - as Id established about 5 posts ago, using the fallback tuner is the way to go for me and so far thats working brilliantly - i'm just going to have a little linux box sync the 2nd box to the server so I can benefit from the auto ABM updates. Cheers!

Just add the IP-address in 'customise' and activate.

on slavebox then ? Nothing to do on masterbox ? Will the RCSC channellist still work or do we need to upload same list as on masterbox ?

No port, just enter the IP - not sure why everyones so confused by the fallback receiver option here, its one of the most straight forward settings in OpenVix! It wins for me as I can just manage my bouquets easily and quickly as has been established in this thread - both method works flawlessly in terms of actually displaying the channel on your box, it just depends, if like me, you'd prefer not to have the bouquet names with the server box name added to them (and not have to edit them each time)

I got it to work and I did need to enter the port which was 8001, this was the bit that wasn't getting set correctly, I had tried 80, 8080 but it needs 8001.
Now if only ABM could use remote fallback if all my tuners are occupied....

When I used RCSC on my 2nd box (client) to watch cable channels from the 1st box (server), it would not allow me to record. It would show as recording but when I would try to play it, it would look like it is recording. but later when i would try to play, it would just show the live feed of that channel rather than what I recorded and then the box would crash. Or it would be completely jiitterly and unwatchable, even standard free-to-air bbc1. Plus AutoTimer refused to add recordings to the Timer if it was set from a Remote Bouquet.
How do i record on RCSC?

also, what is "fall back tuner" and its purpose?

Please, try again with RCSC with build 021.

Fallback tuner allows you to stream a service from another receiver if it ccurrently is not possible on the local box.

So the latest Openvix allows you to record the RCSC stream on 2nd box from 1st box's tuner?
