    Question Recommend Receiver Please

    Hi All,

I used to have cloud ibox (version 1) with open-pli image and was ok with it until the remote broke and have to buy a new receiver now.

I was wondering which one do you recommend? and what image should I have on it?

Want something in range of £150 or so.

I looked around and found this http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/...u/VU-Plus-Zero
    and someone recommended this http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/...ate-TM-Nano-SE

    Which one would you recommend?

    Thanks

    Hi Sam

The Et8000 has had good feedback recently on the forum, good bit of kit for £159.

well for your price range i would go for the Xtrend ET8000 with 2 DVB-S tuners for the Bargain price of £159 from the sponsors pre-installed with the latest VIX Image and you also have the option of fitting a 3rd tuner at a later date if you ever need it
i have the Xtrend ET10000 and that is a Superb receiver and in my opinion they have one of the best remote control's there is bar none

I would still go with the ET8000, much more versatile compared to the 2 in your OP.

They're both good receivers, but not the spec the ET8000 has, ET8000 has dual core 1.3GHz CPU, internal HDD facility, upto 3 plug and play tuners. Loads better more spec, not much more money. Comes down to budget I suppose.

    Hi,

How does the hd2400 quadbox compare to the ET10000 and duo2 please? I was after the best box for transcoding!

    Thanks.

I have the Mut@nt HD2400, Xtrend ET10K and I have also had a Vu+ Duo2 in the past and my fave receiver is the Mut@nt HD2400 by a long shot. All 3 boxes you have mentioned do hardware transcoded which is the best!!

    hd2400 and ET10k more versatile to the Duo2. Spec's-wise, ET10k higher spec.
