Using it as a Media Centre

I currently use my LX3 as my media centre to watch films from my Windows shares...

Is there any buttons that let you skip forward in a movie i.e. I watched up to 45mins into the film - is there an easy way to skip forward to this point other than simply fast forwarding?

My old HDX1000 box would let me skip to 10%-90% of the movie just by pressing a number on the controller?

Slightly off topic, but can anybody with this box recommend a way to improve the remote control? Unless you are pointing it directly at the box, its pretty useless..

Hold down left/right buttons either side of OK, the move progress slider using left/right buttons again.

Or use the minutes jump buttons (1-4-7 to jump back and 3-6-9 to jump forward).

Thank you for that tip Sicilian it works a treat so much easier than pressing the fast forward buttons when I am trying to wade through 6 hours of Motorbike Racing
