    buying Vu Ultimo 2nd hand info needed

    I am looking to buy a 2nd hand Ultimo for the bedroom, I would like it to be genuine what should I be looking for, ie is there any clones of this receiver and grey imports, how would I be able to tell

    AFAIK there are no Ultimo clones.
    Thanks to the EU 'grey import' doesn't exist.

    Don't you think that an Ultimo is a bit overdone for a bedroom? I would go for the cheapest available box (even with no or defect tuner).

    Hi Rob,
    "grey imports" might be interesting concerning warranty. In Germany HM-Sat offers 3 year warranty but of course not for grey imports which are not imported by satco (I think). I do not know how it is handled in the Netherlands or the UK.

    Yes, so if you buy a box from HM-Sat as a UK customer you also get that 3-year warranty.
    But the point is: warranty is never transferable to a second owner.

    Indeed and thats a point that many either dont know or dont admit to when selling second hand receivers ( goods in general ) with xxxx amount of warranty remaining.

    i wanted to know if buying 2nd hand receiver I didn't want a clone, this was pointed out that there are no cloned boxes of the ultimo
