Not good we host it we pay lots of taxes to build it and we cannot enjoy it what a crock

Broadcasters aren't requesting 3D coverage says head of Olympics TV operation.

3D TV coverage of the 2012 London Olympics is likely to be experimental at best because no-one needs it.

That's the word from Manolo Romero, managing director and CEO of Olympic Broadcasting Services, at this year's IBC television conference.

Romeros said: 'It is still very early days for 3D broadcasting to consider covering the Olympics in 3D.

'For a soccer World Cup 3D is more manageable since you require two mobile units to cover multiple venues but the scale of an Olympics with multi-venues and multi-events makes 3D stereo production a much more complex operation.

'We might experiment with recording some events, perhaps the opening ceremony, in 3D. Right now though, we are not receiving any requests from broadcasters for 3D.”
