Stream solo 2 to my bedroom.

Hey guys, i got a solo 2 for my front room, i want to stream my solo box to a box in the bedroom... What is the cheapest box i could buy for my bedroom that would allow me to stream to it.

    Many thanks :-)

Any E2 based receive will do, popular models that most recomend as a bedroom box are the xp1000 or the venton HD +1 both available via the sponsors shop, or see if you can grab a cheep second hand unit for the job.

Have a look at the Sumvision Cyclone Android X2 sold by uShop247.co.uk, a forum sponsor. A little bit of tweaking and it does the job perfectly using XBMC or the Vu+ app.

I have one and it works a treat.

Yes, and do stuff like iplayer, internet radio and all sorts of stuff.

You need to be comfortable with doing a bit of fiddling to make it work well but the info is out there.

    Yes, HD works.

Credit to ChewieT on HotUKDeals for this

This is a cracking little box, got mine working with XBMC, streaming everything from my HP Proliant perfectly even 1080P content. Here are the steps I used to set it up.

    Install the latest Geniatech Firmware
    Code:
    http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androidtvbox/update_spi_MX_20130510.zip
    Code:
    http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/androidtvbox/update_MX_20130506.zip
Rename the zip files to img files and copy them to SD card. Boot the box with SD card inserted and with the small recessed button on the back pressed in. Update the SP1 file first.

Uninstall the XBMC software that comes with the Geniatech firmware and install the Pivos one.
    Code:
    http://update.pivoscdn.com/XIOS_DS/XBMC/xbmc-XIOS-Android-012913.zip
Install XBMC addon repositories using Fusion
    Code:
    http://www.xbmchub.com/blog/2012/04/24/fusion-easy-addon-installation-for-xbmc/
If you have a large XBMC database, its a good idea to move the userdata folder from the internal memory on the box to an external SD card. To do this use an app called directorybind.
    Code:

Enable the Vu+ AddOn for XBMC
