Cant manually add hotbird sat on VU Solo.

    Hi All,

I have just set up my new VU SOLO as per some of the guides here but I recently set up another dish pointing at hotbird and had this on a 2 port Discq switch (port A 28.2 Port B 28.2) on a openbox which worked fine. I can see where to set this under tuner config but the automatic scan does not find the hotbird sat only Astra 28 so is there a way to manually add the Hotbird sat and then assign this to port b etc.

    Many Thanks

    J

What is your current tuner configuration? Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Tuner Configuration

You should have something similar to the attached.

Yes it is the exact same except under port B I can only choose "nothing connected" or "automatic" which runs a scan but does not find the hotbird sat and finally to choose the same as port a which is astra 28.2. I used to have a Vu Duo a few years back and I could just cycle through a list of sats but for some reason this box only has Astra 28.2 to choose from as when it ran a scan it only found that Sat but still I should be able to add hotbird manually as the sat scanning is the problem...i think. I am running Vix 3.0 build 649 so not sure if that matters or not

You need to update the satellites.xml file then. It is located in /etc/enigma2

    Code:
    http://satellites-xml.eu/

The image already comes with a extensive satellites.xml file installed by default, but you could always just download a upto date bouquet pack from the image feeds for the locations you want to receive. There is a very extensive list of bouquet packs to choose from on the feeds.
