13.0E all of a sudden goes dead - any advice?

    Hi Guys,

I Have a motorised setup with a VU DUO. Tuner A is the motorised dish and Tuner B goes to a fixed minidish on 28.2. After recently moving house I had my motorised dish put back up (technomate dish and motor). It worked fine for a while but then I noticed that sometimes, whenever Im watching anything on 13.0E (SNR of around 72%), I will all of a sudden get tune failed pop up and the picture will go blank. The only way I can get it back is by selecting another bouquet e.g. one on 19.2E and then moving it back to 13.0E again.

A few weeks ago, this workaround stopped too so I got my installer to have a look as I thought it was an alignment problem. He got me to put the dish on 1W, plugged his satfinder in, and said the alignment was fine as he had got a picture on 1W no problem. He did also manually drive the dish back to 1W after checking other sats and pressed the reset button on the motor once it was there. After trying 13.0E again, all was there again. He said that he hadn't adjusted anything, just drove the dish back to 1W manually and pressed the reset button. A few weeks later, and the problem is now back.

Has anyone got any ideas on what this could be? Is there anything I can check before I get him to come out again to have a look?

    Any advice much appreciated.

Guys... Update. Problem solved! an F connector was loose on the LNB causing the signal to weaken when the dish moved. Everything is working well now.

good to hear you found the problem, just a shame, for what ever reason, your earlier post was missed by myself, and others, as one of the first things to check, on a previously goos setup, is the coax cables and related connections

but at least you have sorted it yourself, and thanks for reporting back

where possible you should always use F crimp connector especially on motorised as its moving around. Its a lot more robust and waterproof.
