    Question Vbox Positioner not moving

    hello all,

i finally fitted my vbox and motorized dish today but I am having a problem with the positioner not being moving. Now motorized dish is connected to tuner A and fixed Nilesat on tuner B.

I am using AAF image and have followed this guide by word

    Code:
I did mine manually and turned usals of, STAGE 1.

GOTO Main Menu \ Setup \ Service Searching \ Tuning
    Press "OK" on "TUNER A"
Use L/R keys to change Configuration Mode to "advanced"
    Move down to "SATELLITE"
Use L/R keys to select the satellite you want to add
Underneath that set "Use USALS" for this satellite to "no" using L/R keys
    Go down to "Stored position"
Set the position you want to this satellite to appear at using L/R keys ie 001, 002 etc
    Go down to "LNB"
Use L/R keys to select "LNB 1"
Next ensure "Diseqc Mode" is " 1.2"
    "Toneburst" is "B"
(I left the others at the default setting's)
Go further down and input your Latitude and Longtitude using the numeric keys
(I inputted my Lat & Long information but I don't think it will make any difference unless you use USALS !)
Scroll further down to "LOF" and set it to "Universal LNB" using the L/R keys
Then Press "OK" to save the info you have inputted.

You will need to perform this for each Satellite position you intend to set up.

    STAGE 2.

GOTO back to Main Menu \ Setup \ Service Searching \ Positioner setup
    Go down to "Positioner storage"
Use L/R keys to set the postion number that is to be setup
    Go up to "Tune"
    Press the "Red Button"
Using L/R keys select "Predefined or Manual transponder" as required
(I suspect the Predefined settings uses the satellites.xml file and manual you get to choose what you want to scan)
Go down to "Satellite" and use the L/R keys to select the Satellite to place at the above Storage postion
    Press "OK"
    Go down to "Positioner movement"
Use the coloured buttons to search or move the dish left or right until "Locked" is acheived
    Go back to "Positioner storage"
Press the GREEN button to store that location

You will need to perform this for each position you intend to set up in line with what you did in stage 1.

This is the way that I did it and it works fine, it looks daunting but after having done it a couple of times it becomes easy.
I saved the positions on the positioner as well with same numbering on the duo, i can move it manually but this is not the goal

will anybody help and make it move automatically when i choose a channel from a different satellite than the one playing now...

    thanks in advance

the limits would be set on the V box, but not a requirement

what i did, was find the required sat on the V box movement, and saved each sat as 1 = 1 west 19 = 19 east and so on...once done

i then set the tuner "A" to a non USALS set up (advanced) setting the sats as per the V Box

in positioner movement, you should be able to move the dish via the reciever asking the v box to move the dish, once the sat is found, save as position "what ever you want" and it should then save the position to the v box as well...just tested this here, so it works ok

thank you everybody for your assistance and advice.

unfortunately i did all i have read and been told and still no progress. i have tried 3 images as well AAF, DE 133F and the latest vti 2.0 and no improvement. i know there is something wrong or i am missing.

if possible will u answer these quest for me, might help me:

1- do i have to turn the vbox ON manually or the duo is supposed to turn it ON.
2- shall i search and save the sats positions on the vbox first or this to be done in conjunction with the vbox
3- do i define all the sats in service searching/tuner configuration and then goto positioner setup save them one after the other OR i have to do it one by one.
4- saving the position is only by clicking on the green button after putting the number. Am i doing this correctly or there is another method to save the position.
5- when i start the very first saving, does the positioner has to be pointing at a certain satellite (position) or it makes no difference.

thanks you very much all for your assistance and help

1 turn on the v box
2 my vbox was already set to the sats, but with dreamelite, i can move and save positions on the unit and v box
3 its best to save say 19 east, (press ok) select a channel on say 28 east, use the vu, and move the dish till 28 is found, save as position 28, that should save the position on the vu as well
    4 is answered above
5 it makes no difference, but best to be on a known working sat

I have a v box but only one lnb connected to it .The only way I could get my dish to move was to set the B tuner to 2nd cable from a motorised dish.It was the same for dream elite and open pli images. The Vu duo moves the dish. you dont have to programme the V box I left all the settings for each sat to default after changing the usals settings to no

Thank you bas thank you thank you thank you

    it is working now

only thing was wondering about now is tuner priority. as i said tuner B is on a fixed dish and at the same time i receive it on the motorized dish (Tuner A). is there a way so that when i zap to a channel on nilesat it will directly use tuner B and not having to move the dish on tuner A.

once again thank you and cats for your assistance

    I am not sure,
but the fixed dish should take priority, as its already there, the only time the mot dish would go there, is if you are recording on nile sat, and you choose another transponder, not being used by the recording
