Hi all.
Very good forum from what ive seen so far. new to satellite and looking for a decent receiver, currently looking at the dm800se or vu+ uno.
gonna look around and see what support is offered for both boxes before buying tho. any suggestions much appreciated.

Personally, I'd go with the VU boxes. Just make sure it's not a clone as the original boxes are rock solid.

+1 for the VU boxes, imho much better than the DM range and you get more bang for your bucks.

I onlu ever have owned a DM7020 and DM800 and whilst the E1 DM was very good, not impressed with the DM800.

right... been reading thru the forum for a couple of days now and im gonna take the plunge and buy a vu+ duo. Complete noob to satellite so ive read a few tutorials regarding flashing the box etc. still a little confused as to the differences in cams and what they can do and even where u get them from. however im willing to have a go and pretty sure if i get stuck there will be plenty of help from the forum. cant wait to get started now

You will be alright Dave. Have a read of the variouse tutorials, if you get stuck do as a search and if you cannot find an answer create a nee thread and we will help out.

the DUO is a cracking box, you won't be disappointed.

well i finally got round to setting the box up today. gotta say having had a few weeks to read the tuts and bookmark what i thought i needed it was a lot easier than i thought. took me bout 1hr 15 to install 500g hdd and mount it. add picons, bouquets, and mount to usb along side epg. ftp'd tspanel to box. installed cccam. even put a bootlogo on!! very pleased with myself. and loving box so far. great forum. everything is there if willing to search and patient enough to read. 1st class communication with the sales team. very happy chappy. cheers fellas
