Sky will tomorrow give a UK 3D TV premiere to the new MTV World Stage concert series on its 3D channel, including shows by LMFAO and rapper Snoop Dogg.

The six-part series will launch on Sky 3D on January 6 at 10pm with rock band Kings of Leon performing hits such as 'Knocked Up' and 'On Call' to fans in Hamburg, Germany.

Viewers will also be able to watch 3D coverage of Snoop Dogg's sold-out concert to 6,000 fans at the Amnesia club in Ibiza, along with Maroon 5 performing in Las Vegas and LMFAO playing the hits from their debut album.

"Televised concerts come alive in 3D and there is no better partner to be working with than MTV and its World Stage strand," said John Cassy, who was appointed Sky 3D director last year.

"These gigs will give music fans a truly immersive and entertaining experience of watching some of the world's biggest selling and most talked about artists without having to leave the comfort of their living room."

Other bands showcased in 3D in the MTV World series include electro hip hop act Far East Movement and Jared Leto's rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars.
