    3D Channels

    Happy New Year everyone!

Here in Sweden we are getting our first real 3D channel now and I can see in the new firmware there is even a 3D OSD. How do you get the box to tell the TV that it is a 3D channel and it should switch to 3D mode instead? And of course use the 3D OSD.

Is there a way to do that or is it still a bit of bleeding edge technology?

With my TV I have to switch it to 3D mode. The need is quite obvious. There are a number of 3D transmissions on 23.5e which you can try if you have access to them.

the best option to use for 3d is to set teh OSD 3D setup to Auto and then use yr TV 3D mode to toggle on and off

Unfortunately as of yet the linux receivers don't seem to autodetect 3D content and spit the trigger signal to the TV despite the ''auto'' option.
I get around this on Vu+ Duo by enabling a macro on my Harmony One that works quite well
1st off enable the 3D OSD in the extensions Menu, with off as default.
    I have 2 macros programmed, 1 for 3D on and 1 for 3D off.
EditI'm assuming the image used on the receiver is Vix in this macro

My macro is as follows, 3D on = Blue Button> 1(Or whichever number 3D OSD is in Blue Button Menu)>Right(Enables Side by Side)>Green.....
With this Macro my TV(LG 55LW550) then Autodetcts and switches to 3D mode.
To resume normal 2D my Macro =Blue button >1(Or whichever number 3D OSD is in Blue Button Menu)>Left>Green.
This switches the Vu back to 2D mode and again my TV autodetects 2D.
As I have both these macros programmed to single keys on my remote it saves an awful lot of faffing about with regards to using my TV remote or switching modes on my Harmony to enable 3D

I have a Panny 30GT and it auto detects the 3D with no problems at all from the ET9000. Dad has a 2 LGs that pick the signal up fine on ET5000s. No changes needed on the ETx000's at all.

I just discovered now that since I've updated to the latest VIX my 3D macro(Vu Duo) doesn't work anymore....
Changing the 3Dsettings via Bluebutton now has absolutely no effect
Have to use the TVs 3D button now rather than my macro and autodetect....
    Dammit
