OnLive launching on tablets later today, 'LEGO Batman' offered free

OnLive is to be launched on tablets later today.

All games and features on the cloud gaming service will be fully playable on Android devices, iPad and Kindle Fire.

Users who download the application will be given LEGO Batman in its entirety for free.

25 titles will be updated with touch-specific control schemes. Titles such as LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 will feature on-screen buttons designed specifically for those titles.

Elsewhere, Defence Grid Gold and L.A. Noire will soon offer native control input without buttons.

All games on the service will also be playable with the use of an additional OnLive Wireless Controller, which will be available to purchase soon for £39.99 / $49.99.

"Today marks a major milestone: OnLive is now delivering the latest, console-class, top-tier games - literally to your fingertips - on mobile tablets and phones for instant on-demand play anywhere, anytime," said OnLive founder and CEO Steve Perlman

"Tablets and smartphones, the fastest-growing consumer product categories in history, are now capable of running the hottest, highest-end games. Gaming and mobile devices will never be the same."

Numerous titles have been added since the service's September launch, including Batman: Arkham City, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Saints Row The Third.

As well as individual game purchases, OnLive offers a PlayPack subscription for £6.99 per month, which provides open access to over 100 titles.

BT Broadband currently offers its customers three months' free access to the PlayPack subscription, which is available to any BT customer over the age of 18 who registers by January 31, 2012.
