New image 5.3

Currently on last 5.2.045 image. I have a few questions before i flash my box vu solo 2. Can u pls advise the difference between the different images, openvix, openatv, ooenpli and user defined? Think openvix is the standard one to download. Shall i back up current image then download the latest 5.3 straight onto box instead of usb?
Also my other issue is what is this about the new epgrefresh plugin? If i do restore current setting will my epg work on the new image or will i have to download the new plugin and follow instructions as per abu to get epg to work? Will i have to set anything in main menu, set up, epg as in current image?

ImageManager gives you the option of downloading from OpenViX and 2 other image sites.(User is for those that build their own images)
To download the latest OpenViX image just select OpenViX and the available images for your receiver will be listed.

Providing you backup up your settings before hand, you should be able to flash online and restore settings - if you use Crossepg for you EPG and still wish to do so, then you can download Crossepg from the plugins and everything will run as normal.

I used to use epg importer. I have loaded the new image and restored setting and epg all still works, is that because its still using the epg importer?
Is the new epg refresh better more accurate? Shall i download the plugin and follow abu guide, or do i need to remove the epg importer plugin first?

Epgimporter works fine - if you are happy with the results then use it..... especially if you have more than 28.2E.
If your sat is only 28.2E then perhaps follow the guidelines on this forum to use epgrefresh (which you will find is automatically installed) - but just be comfortable, no need to jump immediately into something!

Use webIf to grab better pictures instead of using your fone.
