Receiver does not respond to remote

I have only had this receiver for less than 12 hours, and now it does not respond to the remote.

I have tried changing batteries, although the remote does flash when I press some of the buttons, and also unplugged it from the mains for a few minutes. the receiver still doesn't respond and it is stuck on the same channel for about 4 hours. I cannot do anything except to turn off the receiver and back on again.

Is it faulty, or is there anything else I can do.

I managed to solve the problem!!
there is a button on the remote which says GIGA in red letters, and when I pressed that , the receiver responded. All is well now.
I know I was playing with the remoter earlier to see what the different buttons did. As the handbook is in German, I had no way of know this.

There is also a fully working virtual remote control in the Web Interface (webif).
