    Thinking once removed they wont automatically get set up again?,Awaiting further updates by the main men .

    Mine don't.
    By "fixed" do you meant "the same one each time" or "one I have configured" (or both).

    As far as I can tell, usb devices are hot-pluggable, the only possible danger in not unmounting/ejecting them before removal.

    Which isn't a danger for the device (or the host) but rather a danger for any file-system which is on the device and mounted at the time.

    There are plenty of dire warnings on this forum relating to HDMI cable connect/disconnect whilst devices are powered up.

    Yes we know that HDMI is not the same as USB - I was referring to the cables part of cactikid's post.

    As regards the loss of the upper case, somewhere between posts #19 and #20 USB became usb , and it was usb before post #19 - I just used reply with quote - maybe the go advanced method doesn't do it?
