xbox one dvb c/t tuner not working

Thanks to a post by @abu baniaz on another forum i bought one of these tuners that works great on my duo 4k
However it will not play ball on the sf8008, it just will not show up under tuners

xbox tuner need linux 4.17 , currently is 4,4,35 , may openvix can make backport. as i know ALL hisilicon boxes not yet support linux 4.17. need new sdk from hisilicon huawei company

OpenSPA has fixed the use of XBOX even on old kernels.
e.g. VU Solo 4K - kernel 3.14

Do you have the correct driver installed, and the correct firmware file?
Which appears to be enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-mn8847x.

I am sure it worked on solo 4k for me on ViX, but no signal readings, same as most other images. The commit by Eddi should apply to all images in the OE-A family. I'll check later.

When I spoke to Sergio in 2022, he said that their media tree is a tar on their server. They don't have them in Git.

Since the USB tuner is an external device, it would probably be more appropriate to have a one thread/topic for external tuners (similar to Sundtek). There are so many threads/topics about XBOX tuners and the information is sketchy.
 
The Sundteks use their own drivers and app, so appropriate for them. For other devices, you have the issue where they will work with one receiver but not another.
 
Sorry to tag on to the end of someone else's thread but I have related questions about using the XBOX USB DVB-T2 tuner.

My Zgemma H7S used to work well with either one of my XBOX USB DVB-T2 tuners using the dvb-usb-dib0700 driver (they did not work at all with the dvb-usb-mn8847x driver mentioned above).
They worked for both DVB-T and DVB-T2.
Signal strength reading didn't work, but that didn't matter at all in practice. I assumed it was probably a hardware limitation of these tuners.

However recently (well it could have been months ago honestly, but not years ago) I can't get either of them to work at all for DVB-T2, only DVB-T.

Has anyone got any suggestions about what could have changed in OpenViX to stop XBOX USB DVB-T2 tuners working for DVB-T2?

I coudl have been wrong as to what drivers it uses. I have 2 USB tuners connected.

But my XBox one is working with DVB-T2 on my et8000. I've just disabled all preceding tuners to get it in use:

Maybe frequencies in your local area have changed?

I'll try and check my H9S SE later for you. Hopefully should be same kernel/drivers.

No, still the same, and the built in tuner on my H7S still works tuned to the same frequency.

Thanks, that would be great if you can.

I think I still have somewhere a Sundtek tuner I can use instead. I just need to search to find where I put it.
I used the XBOX one because they were dirt cheap and the Sundtek has to be used with a USB extension lead and as a result it can occasionally lose it's connection.
 
Weird, an Enigma2 scan does not find the T2 channels. If I use ABM, it finds the channels. While on the channel and I go to manual scan, it obviously preloads the current TP, a scan finds nothing on the TP.
