"Equal to" means you have exactly the same hardware hooked up to the tuner. For Solo2, to use internal loop through, the signal wire must be hooked up to Tuner B.

You have not fully described the hardware connected to the tuner. Is it a single universal LNB? Do you have any diseqc switches or splitters? Are you using any face plates? I presume that you have checked F-plugs are fine. And lastly, sometimes, the PSU fails and it cannot supply the required current for the tuner. Are you able to test another 12v PSU?

@Joe_90 - Yes (I think so), it is scanning all the transponders but finds only channels att one (1) transponder.

@abu baniaz - Here follows the hardware:
VU+ Solo2
A single universal LNB
No Diseq switches
I don't know what Face Plates are
F-plugs look ok and I get these 23 channels clear.
Failing PSU sounds as a possibility. I don't have another 12V PSU, but I can measure the PSU output while it is scanning. If it has issues the voltage should drop below 12V.

I did not know that. Then I will move the coax back to Tuner B and change the tuner settings.

@edsel - I scanned 13E last night just for free-to-air channels and got almost 1,000. Once you eliminate a configuration (or cabling issue) as per @abu's posts, I think you need to verify that your dish is pointing correctly at 13E. My location is in Ireland at 6W, so it may be that you can't receive all beams in Sweden, perhaps?


EDIT - I checked the beam coverage for 13E in Lyngsat and Sweden is well within the pattern, so you should be receiving almost the same signal as me.

While you are testing, disable the tuner with no signal wire. It does not matter whether you use A or B (unless you are using internal loop through). Can you please post a screenshot of the scanner options you are using, so that we can double check. Can you also confirm whether you are using a different satellites.xml file or using the one that comes with the image? Some channel lists replace the xml file. The one in /etc/enigma2 is a user one and takes precedence, the one in /etc/tuxbox is the system one. You can easily replace the xml file using "xml update", it is pre-installed on Vix

For your PSU, you will have to check the current. I think that is where the PSUs fail rather than the voltage dropping. Any 12V PSU with at least 2.5A should do for testing.

You should keep your tuner set as simple, single, 13e.

And are you able to see the LNB easily and safely? Are you sure it is not damaged? A friend was not getting any services recently. We found his LNB in the pictured state. I am pretty sure it is a hardware fault: signal wire, dish, lnb or PSU.

I looked for the satellites.xml file and this file exists only in /etc/tuxbox (507377 Apr 27 19:10 satellites.xml), not in /etc/enigma2.

The LNB was installed by a technician for about 10 days ago and he received Hotbird channels on his little screen, sitting on the roof. I also receive 23 Hotbird channels with 80% SNR.
I believe - like you - that there can be some hardware error.

I don't use a face plate, the cable comes directly from the LNB.

Hotbird is popular in Sweden and has a strong signal. I have received it before with other equipment.

Last software check:
When you change tuner configuration, some entries remain. To exclude any "Advanced" settings you had previously used, try one of the following:

1. Flash the image again, do not restore settings after it restarts. Ensure you set tuner with the signal wire as simple, single, 13e
2. Stop enigma2 with "init 4" command. Edit the file called "settings" in /etc/enigma2/ by deleting all the lines that have "nim" in them. Transfer back, restart with "init 3". Ensure you set tuner with the signal wire as simple, single, 13e

Here follows the screenshot of the scan settings:

I disconnected the internal harddisc, just in case it took too much power, and measured the current and voltage during a scan.
The voltage was stable around 12.2 V and the current around 1.15 A. During boot was the current around 700 mA.

I saw your last message only now and I will make the software check you propose. I come back with that tomorrow.

@edsel - you are only scanning one transponder! (predefined transponder). Click the "Type of scan" settings (use right arrow) until it reads single satellite and then scan.

I have now scanned with type of scan: Single Satellite
it gives the same result, the same 23 channels.
It is strange that every time I go back to Manual Scan, the type is changed again to Predefined Transponder.

I have stopped Enigma2, deleted all the lines with "Nims" in /etc/enigma2/ , restarted and made a scan but it did not change anything.

I guess the next thing to do is to exchange the LNB.

Can't actually check right now, but I used default Vix settings and got all the RAI HD channels (except for the encrypted ones of course). Over 900 channels tuned in.

Today I have been looking on the roof and this is the LNB that is installed, för less than 2 weeks ago.
Just wondering if you know this brand.

That is not a universal LNB, it is a unicable LNB. The brand is not really important it is the frequency/scr channels that it uses.

We will add the device to the unicable file later, but that is not too important. Receiver just needs to know what frequency to communicate with LNB.

Edit: Please hook up wire to Tuner B and configure that tuner only.
Leave tuner A as not configured for now. I have a test for you to do after we have you working fine.
