    Old VU+ Duo image

    Hi Guys,
I have an old VU+ DUO I think at least 7 or 8 yrs old worked fine until I had to re-image it, it now has frequent crashes when running recent images.
I have just got rid of SKY and want to use this VU+ to receive just FreeSat and use my rotator to move between Eutelsat 13 East and Astra at 28.2 East. and the record function.
If I remember correctly it is running a Japhar Chip.

Can any one suggest an older image that would suite it with a possible link. I tried the latest VIX and OpenPLI but they crash at various times, usually associated with tuning.
It is probably too old to run the latest images. I did have an OpenPLI 6.xx (I think) image on it and was great but sadly I have lost the file.

    Thanks in anticipation...
    John

I don't know how you tried the latest vix because vix has not supported that box for years.

If you got the latest ViX for that box that means is unofficial build. So you cant expect to work OK...

    openvix-3.0.204-vuduo_usb.zip
I am pretty sure I got it from this site, I assumed it was the latest image.
It loaded OK and does run but as said it crashes. It has a weird thing tho when you make any changes to tuner setup there is no save button.
There is a list of old images on this site but I hoped someone would say that xxxx.img is brlliant.
I will start downloading from the list and try them one by one.

    Thanks for your input guys.

When did you get it from this site? If you click on the top on "OpenVIX Images" you will see all available downloads and it only starts with the Duo2. And even if it was from this site 3.0.204 was not the latest one for this box.

3 or 4 days ago, I have obviously made a mistake, when it loaded up it has a date stamp of /09/24 so I assumed it was the latest.
I am now searching for other DUO images, I thought I saw a section on here which showed a lot with older dates on but I cannot find that now.
So perhaps I will do as someone said and google it.

    Sorry to bother everyone.

I like old threads as bring some laughter to the forum , surprised that Vu Duo is still working and is a slow box.
Make sure images say vu Duo and not Vu Duo 2.

Thanks I just spotted the date. It was strange that it showed a different date when it was installed.
    Anyway it still crashes.

I have now loaded Release 9 of OpenPLI which is new.
This works fine but I have a problem which I had on all other images I tried.
I am running (at the moment) from two spare LNB connections on a 8 way LNB that is set up for Sky, there is still my Sky box connected to it and it has all the channels both free and Sky (although the Sky ones dont work cuz they cancelled my contract) I can get BBC, ITV etc.

Now when I scan my VU+, wjith both tuners set as single and simple, same as I did the last time I used the VU the only channels it finds are ITV plus 1, and some other ITV related chans BUT no BBC or a host of other chans.
In total it only sees 23 chans plus some others with just letters and numbers that dont play. The ITV ones work OK.
I installed the Granada Bouquet plugin which gave me the list of all the chans but they all say tune failed.
I have played with LNB settings in the tuner config but nothing changes.
I read somewhere that BBC is on 28.5 East but there are no options for this sat.

    Has anyone got any ideas?

    John
