    trying to flash openVix

Sorry, but I'm very new to all of this.

    I have a new VU+ Zero Rev 2 box.
I am trying to flash OpenVix to it.
I believe I have correctly followed the VU+ USB flashing guide.
When I switch on the box, with the USB stick plugged in, the led light flashes 4 times and the remains steady.
Left it like this for 30 mins.
Connecting the box to the TV just shows the VU+logo screen.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Cheers
    Gerry

Were you using an 8gb usb stick as recommended.

I have used Kingston , Cruzer , Integral and all work when formatted to fat 32 and image is extracted to usb.

Some usb sticks dont work/seen so they dont flash the box.

Are you using correct Image Name / model for your box.

Any buttons need pressing to start the flashing process

Mine doesn't always seem to boot straight after flashing. I just normally power off after 15 minutes and remove USB stick then start the box and it boots vix.

If that doesn't work what is your current image? Most images allow you to flash images from HDD so no need to USB flash.

Yes, I believe I was using the correct image for my box.

Mine is a Rev 2 box, are these images only for the original box?

I don't have an image, that is the problem.
All I have is the VU+ logo.

I would like someone to confirm image to use as i use that for my early Vu Zero model.

He has another model and is it a 4K box .

It has to have an Image on it as it shows the Vix logo

Forgot to mention San Disk are good

Should ask can you post a photo of box , and it is not a Revez model

Can't see any information that it is a 4K box.
If it has got an image shouldn't I see more than just the logo?

Just reading those specs it says IMAGE is NOT compatible with the original version .

That Image WONT work with your box.

Mods or Admin need info on this

You might have a box not supported by Openvix ?

Another site I looked at expanded on the " image not compatible" statement.
It said that you can't flash an image that was created via the backup image function created on the original VU+ box.

Ah - confused me as your title indicates that you're trying to flash OpenVix. So, which is it?
