HDMI-IN on standby

Does anyone know of a way to route HDMI-IN to HDMI-OUT on standby?

The effect would be similar to "Blue Button" "2" (Turn on HDMI-IN full screen mode).

I had assumed HDMI might be used for say a Blu ray playing through the import in as i did see plugin to aid that function.

I would think both would need to be on for controls to work.

Some videos have the cropped box video with black bars and others are in full screen and DTS sound.
