Flashing an image from one VU+ box to another VU+ box

I am new to the world of the internals of flashing etc.
I have a VU+ box that I want to copy everything to a new VU+ box.
The old box uses 5.0.0.32, and the new box 6.3.003
I have created an image from my old box and tried to install it on my new box.
The flashing process seems to work, no error messages and flashing completed message.
However, all I get on the new box is just the logo, nothing else.
    I have reinstalled
version 6.3.003 on the new box.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Cheers
    Gerry

Are both boxes the same model? Where (USB/internal HDD) are you making an image backup? How are you flashing the image on box with older image?

Personally, I would just use the settings backup.

As I said I am new to all of this so I might be doing something stupid.
They are both VU+ Zero boxes although the new one is a V2.
Making the image backup by using Menu/Setup/ ViX/image Manager/ New Backup onto a formatted USB stick.
Then transferring the USB stick to the new box and using Menu/Setup/ ViX/image Manager/ Restore.
Tried using the settings backup but the USB stick seemed to have the name when plugged into the new box, doesn't seem to be recognised.
    Cheers

When you connect your USB stick to the receiver you want to flash, is there only one USB/storage device connected? If not, the mount points may be different. Safest options is to put receiver in deep standby, connect USB stick and then power on.

Just re-read your post, you really want to use an old image?

I just read with interest and you have to say a lot more to make it easier to help but from the outset I can tell that what you are trying to achieve is one sure way to muck up your new box.

Lets put it like this, if you bought a new car would you want to put the tyres from your old car on it.

What you do is you flash the new box and configure it to look and act like your old box but with all the new software.

All you may have on your old box is a skin, an epg, autobouquets maker, some progs in timer and autotimer, a channel listing of 28 east. And may afew plugins that are old and wont work anyway.

So say what you want to move from old to new.

Sorry, I thought I did in my second post.
