Backup Problem

Openvix 6.2.011, Gigablue UHD UE4K. backup to media/hdd.

Hi, It seems every other time I do a Backup the box will complete the action, however when I ask the box to restore the backup, the box comes up with a "timeout message, unable to complete" I now do 2 backups, maybe 5 minutes apart. Any suggestions, please?

logs settings are in "/home/root/" do you want me to change the location?

That is a crash log.

You need to turn on debug logs and set a location.
Menu>Setup>System>Logs

Its hung,
the restore has completed…. And tries to force a reboot, but I notice that epgimporter is also running and that obviously runs for a long time(you import a few satellites?) and I guess because multiple threads are running (and restore is killing E2) thats where the hang occurs.

you might try it when everything has calmed down - also please set logs to local time, makes it easier for old guys like me.

Hello, Thanks. EPG runs for long time, yes. running 3 satellites, plus 3x IPTV. Switched off EPG import after booting up, Set logs to local time. Rebooted box, tried backup a few times, still showing "time out". Must have tried about five times (only updated once)

Can you switch to Simple 1080 skin and try again -----> mind you normally (in my view) you would only do this after a system reset, in which case nothing much is running when the restore takes place.(Menu/Setup/System/system reset

Hi. Switched to Simple 1080 OK, looks like it's behaving itself, thanks. Tried rebooting and reverting images quite a few times and had no problems going back. I'll keep you posted if things change. Many thanks!!
