    Replacement for Ultimo 4k

My Ultimo seems to have died and I am looking for a replacement. I was hoping to find an equivalent or superior box that had three tuner slots. Can anybody suggest something. I could do without the Terrestrial tuner if necessary.

Does any Company still sell these or is there a main board I could buy?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I think 3 slots might get difficult. What tuner do you need?

You could get the Gigablue Quad 4k and add an additional terrestrial tuner.

Thanks for suggestion. Do you have any opinion as to the comparison to the Ultimo?

For me the Gigablue is better. It's very fast and has multiboot. Vu+ are very well made but too expensive to justify the price imho.

I have both, but the Ultimo4K is the box I use 24/7.

The closest in spec that is currently available would be the Duo4K SE (same chipset as the ultimo4k but only 2 tuner slots), you could fit a terrestrial tuner in the 2nd slot, or if you mean you want 2x fbc tuners as you use all 16 demodulators with a unicable II lnb, then you could use a usb tuner for terrestrial.

But the display on the Duo4k SE is nowhere near as nice as the one on the Ultimo4K (same goes for the gigablue quad display).

But again, what is actually wrong with your Ultimo4K ?

You say it has died, but is it actually dead, or just blank on the front except for the white light ?

Thank you for the willingness to help but I have bitten the bullet and ordered the Duo 4K.

I hadn't thought about a USB tuner, so thanks also for the suggestion. I haven't used one for years so I will have to rummage in the spare room!

I love my Ultimo4K but is showing its age. When you say DISPLAY, do you mean the picture quality of the Duo4K SE and Gigablue isn't as good?

I am a bit of a perfectionist. Does anything else match the Ultimo4K for picture quality?
    VU+ Duo 4K SE

Gigablue currently have no Terrestrial tuners available due to chipset shortages.

I think the only option you'll have at the moment is the VU+ Duo 4K SE with 2x Satellite FBC tuner modules and 1x VU+ USB Terrestrial tuner.

I was talking about the front panel lcd display.

Picture quality there is nothing between them imo.

what about the Zgemma H7. That is what I have and it has 3 tuners. Granted it does not have a front panel screen but it seems to work pretty well for me.

    Ultimo 4K has 18 tuners (2x8 DVB-S2, 1x2 DVB-T2, other combinations possible).
