If you can telnet then you should be able to ftp. Set the password in telnet (enter passwd ….and type in new password 2x) , then try ftp with root and new password.
The startup files are in /boot, if you know you have a good image in a slot then copy the Startup _1 through _4 to your PC, rename to STARTUP and copy back, then init 6 in telnet session.
otherwise you will have to copy an image zip to /tmp and install via ofgwrite…….post back if the 1st trick doesn,t work.

If you flash the recovery version by USB it will delete all existing partitions and put ViX on partition 1

No it will not be bricked unless you have been powering on & off.
The h7 is not loading so ftp is not possible
Get an old usb stick or small size usb stick, format fat32
Then install recovery emmc download on stick and usb flash

As far as I know there is no SFTP available:
    Code:
    C:\Program Files\PuTTY>psftp root@192.168.1.28
The server's host key is not cached. You have no guarantee
that the server is the computer you think it is.
The server's ssh-ed25519 key fingerprint is:
    ssh-ed25519 255 SHA256:opO7asy4YgOk+OCJggSWZVsiPaHRBf/SEbImK/7PQ9A
If you trust this host, enter "y" to add the key to
PuTTY's cache and carry on connecting.
If you want to carry on connecting just once, without
adding the key to the cache, enter "n".
If you do not trust this host, press Return to abandon the
    connection.
Store key in cache? (y/n, Return cancels connection, i for more info) y
    Using username "root".
    root@192.168.1.28's password:
bash: line 1: /usr/libexec/sftp-server: No such file or directory
FATAL ERROR: Received unexpected end-of-file from SFTP server

    C:\Program Files\PuTTY>
    Just reflash it.
