Troubling to install XE player 3.0.9

Hello folks, I'm trying to install xe player but for some reason it won't work. see attached image which displays the error message.

Any guidance would be helpful

Can you let me know what you did to resolve as I have been getting same error.
I have tried doing a search on here and favourite search again but can't make sense of it all.
Has there been some underpinning code change?

I'd be interested if anyone has installed XE 3.1.1 successfully on a 6.1. image and doesn't get a crash when trying to use VPN setup from within XE Plugin Menu.......................

it didnt work for me no epg or picons, ended up flashing with openvix 5.4 and xtream editor python2, and all is fine and dandy

Hi Geb789, you can get XE 3.1.1 to work on VIX 6.0.008 so there's no need to go all the way back to 5.4, the following is from a previous post

Xtream editor have updated their plugin to be used with python 3 now.

This is from their website
We have ported our Enigma2 plugin to the newer images with Python3. It is a separate installation and cannot be used with previous images.

As dsayers has posted, Putty command line is used to install it.

I have three boxes all running Xtream Editor 3.1.1 on latest Vix Image with no issues..................... (At the time Image was 6.0.002)

Looking for help, I am running Vu+ zero 4k with updated version of vix (6) and when I install xtream using the above command, it installs but wont open, just sits loading but never opens. Strange thing is it also happens if I revert to openvix version 5 using old pty2 xtream (which worked fine for the last 2 years. I flashed as this issue happened out of the blue on a working system with no manual update from me. I have tried changing to OpenPli and Open ATV but the same issue.

Any Ideas? Could it be an issue with my box?
