BER, PWR and S/N questions.

Hi.
I just install new dish, and using satellite meter SW-6933 I have result:
BER: 1.0E-9
PWR: -29 dBm
S/N: 9.5 dB

Red Strip of Signal: 78%
Green strip of quality: 46%

Are they OK?
Which of the parameters is the most important and has the greatest impact on the strength and stability of reception?

SNR.

The numbers are meaningless unless we know what sat/transponder you are testing on what size dish and from where.

What means:
BER: 1.0E-9 and for good reception what value is needed?
PWR: -29 dBm and for good reception what value is needed and?
S/N: 9.5 dB and for good reception what value is needed?

Depends on the error correction on the transponder. Could be anything from 4dB to 12dB required for usable signal.

Simple answer is tweak the dish for max snr. And if that is not enough you need a bigger dish.

that video (and others) show that the BER value doesn't seem to drop below 1 bit in 1,000,000,000 (1.0e-9)

One more question.
I "see" satellite just above roof (approx. 5 degrees above the roof). is it enough or do i have to see the satellite higher?

Get down at the bottom of the dish and look along the lnb arm. That is where there dish is pointing. If you look straight along the arm and there is clear view of the sky behind you are ok.
