Renaming saved recording needs exit from that directory to get title changed (MovieSelection.py)

If I rename (select #6) one of my recordings saved on a subdirectory, it is renamed but not showed. You need to exit from that directory and then go back to see that renaming was successful. Looks like that function (rename) is missing "refresh" when hitting green button to save & exit.

.... the rename appears to do nothing when at the top level of movielist as well, exit and return (or change directory) is also needed.

I was only looking at a simple way of renaming titles last week, so that's a handy option I've never noticed before.

What would be really useful is an extra option to remove/add New: from/to titles with a minimum of key presses

Yes, I noticed this the other day. Confused me greatly. I'll take a look

I've been trying to get the New: prefix stripped from the EPG in an optional language independent way. Unfortunately, you can't use the config classes in the EPG code (it either returns blanks or it segfaults), so it's proving difficult to make it suitable for release.

.... what I'm trying to do is group collections by adding (or removing) New: from the titles.

I've got tons of recordings, many of which I've probably re-recorded because I'm so far behind watching them.

Grouping them together makes it a bit easier to get rid of duplicates.

What if the title isn't in English?

That's why I mentioned config earlier.

Something weird is going on in the guts of E2 with this bug. It's refreshing the screen, but something is continuing to return the old name when it refreshes, even though the service ref and movielist's cached name have been changed. It used to just reload everything, but that's a bit of a bodgy sledgehammer.

    Aren't movielist collections an option?

For example, I have recordings of "Lewis" and "New: Lewis", so there are 2 collections.

I'm looking for 1 collection (probably called "New: Lewis"), with both "Lewis" and "New: Lewis" showing in that one collection.

"New:" could be a configurable option.

Not sure if this helps but Grog's MovieOrganisor has the option to remove 'New:' from filenames before it puts them into directories.
Perhaps the code from his plugin would help?

I'd prefer a solution which doesn't change the filenames, leaving movielist "as was" when collections are switched off.

Isn't the name displayed that actually written in the meta file rather than any part the filename?

Same difference I'd have thought, rename in movielist updates the meta file, and the new filename is then displayed (eventually).

Odd error message at the end of the rename process...

I don't know if this is related but I get a crash if I try to change the designation of the red button in movie list.
If not I'll start a new thread.
