    Which USB Port For HDD?

I am setting up my brand new sf8008 twin today.

It has a USB3 and a USB2 port. The supplied external drive is USB3 so for maximum speed it would seem sensible to use the USB3 port on the side of the box. However using the USB2 round the back will look much neater and leave the side port free for flashing etc. I guess another way of asking the same question is "Will it make much difference to speed and responsiveness when using pvr functions such as live pause?"

Is there a full manual for this box available online anywhere?

The USB2 port will work fine for an external HDD.

I assume its an HDD with its own power supply, if not you can have issues

Its power supply is from the box via the USB cable. HDD as supplied by World of Satellite bundled with the box.

It will probably be fine. I had no problem with an external drive on my sf8008. But you may need a powered usb hub if the box cant supply enough power.
