28.2 Numerous Channels Showing Tune Failed

    Hi all,

My Uncle has a Formuler F4 Turbo running OpenVIX 5.4.013 that he uses with the 28.2e satellite.

I have ABM configured for him to scan the Central Midlands HD region of Sky UK.

He called me today to tell me that some channels were now showing as Tune Failed. They mostly seem to be the music channels, 2 of which I recall as being Clubland TV and Magic.

I have talked him through running a scan using ABM but those channels are still showing Tune Failed, despite them appearing in the EPG.

Also it appears as though ITV 2 and ITV 3 have disappeared from the list altogether.

It has been a while since I last used an E2 box so my troubleshooting skills are a little rusty.
Have there been any significant changes? Or is there something we need to do to get these channels tuning again?

Might be hardware issue (LNB, alignment etc). Has he restarted the box after running ABM?

Are you sure that the ITV2/3 SD services are not in the Secondary bouquet?

With regards to fault finding, in my opinion, the best way to do so is:

    1. Remove all services.
You can either use the option in Factory reset or
Press up next to OK, green to go to the satellite/orbital selection method, highlight 28.2, menu, remove, remove selected satllite, confirm restart

    2. Perform a manual scan, do not use ABM.
Menu > Setup > Tuners & Scanning > manual Scan

    Select single satellite

You should get over 850 channels. If you don't there is a hardware problem.

    Note:
    ITV 2 SD is on 10906 MHz, 22000, 5/6

    Thank you for your reply.

Doing a manual scan only returned 115 channels.

Some further investigations have lead us to believe that the fault lies with the LNB (it is at least 15 years old)
New LNB is now on order, fingers crossed this will solve the problems
