Question LNB skew setup for zone 2 dish Fta 28.2e

    Hello
How do I setup lab scew for zone 2 dish in East London in Essex area for receiving FTA channels 28.2 e

I have a quad lnb that came with the elliptical zone 2 dish, the lnb has dial markings in degrees?

Lnb skew. was from the front twist/turn lnb clockwise to 13.3 %. or until you get a picture then fine tune on V and H by moving in and out.

You are taking me back in time, in the old days a sky lnb would come ready to fix to the lnb arm so the skew would preset and the focal length. In your case it may be necessary to adjust the focal length so you don't tighten the collar fully until you get the V channels and the H channels, from what I remember itv are V and BBC H. There are no markings for focal length. The last time I did a sky dish I used sky news and al jazeera, plus a few weak channels, when they were of I just tightened up.

Here is a pic of an octo lnb for sky. Note the position of the collar/neck that was not a fluke.

Looking at the LNB from the front (facing the dish), the bottom of the LNB where the cables exit, should be pointed approximately at 7 o'clock as shown in@bmitie's photo. I don't think you can move a Sky LNB in and out as it should be pre-focused for the dish.

Thanks Sorted using online lnb calculator so for dish at 28.2e with LAT:51.5649 LONG:0.2085 dish elev:25.4 the screw = -20.5 h, 69.57H.
So I set it at around -20.4

What does that mean? SKEW refers to the position of the LNB in its holder. In the UK the LNB is slightly twisted so that the bottom of the LNB points to approximately 7 o'clock when you are aligning with Astra 28.2E.
You are referring to "scew", "screw", so I'm not sure if we are discussing the same thing

I tried the E2 box and get the following
    Bloomberg HD on 11686v 23000
    CNN SD only
    total channels 426
    single sat scan 28.2e
    Network = no

I also tried another samsung tv that had channels scaned form another diffrent dish so connected that up and can see the all the channels on the same dish
So I assume I have to manually scan the channels im missing in built in sat tunner.
Not sure if my tv allows that?

You are getting roughly half the channels you should.

Did you connect E2 receiver to the exact same wire? Is there a faceplate there?

Let us just stick to your enigma2 receiver for sake of ease. Please post a screenshot of the scan settings page that you used.

Please post a picture of your dish from the front if you can do it safely.

Ideally you would adjust both skew and focal length for best signal to noise ratio or lowest error rate.
