    Dreambox 900 or not ??

I'm looking at buying a new STB and was considering the dreambox 900 range but was very un sure which model to purchase and if its the right box for me

in order what is the most important

    1. picture quality
    2. speed of boot up and instant channel changes no lagging
    3. Able to record more than 5 channels at the same time unicable compatible
    4. No juddering on playback of recorded programs
    5. IP tv playback and multimedia streaming
    6. WIFI and bluetooth ready out of the box
    7. the best tuner for sensitivity

overall I am wondering which STB the purchase currently own a Gigablue quad 4k.

    all help is appreciated

There's no ViX image for the dm900, sounds like you're not happy with the Gigablue Quad 4K UHD?

Yes the picture quality and sound quality is not the greatest what would you recommend as the `vix image is the best sable image i have ever used but `i found the build quality of the DreamBox to be much better as i used to own a 720 back in the day

No idea I'm afraid, all I (think) I know is that the dm900 has been around for a long time (4+ years?), unless there have been upgrades since then.

What TV are you using and have you tried a calibrated setting (if present)? Picture quality is literally in the eye of the beholder, but often people are not prepared to look at TV settings that might improve things. In terms of picture quality on my test monitor, the Giga gives the 2nd best picture of my range of receivers.

I used to use cheap 120gb SSD's on my boxes but only use 8gb usb drives now as I record to my NAS.
Plenty of SSD's on Amazon for about £50.
