Unhappy FTP connectivity problems with Zgemma H7S - need help!

    Hi All

I am hoping a fellow member can advise, as it's driving me crazy and plenty of google searches have not helped so far.

I am trying to FTP into my box using FTPflash, and I have also tried Filezilla without success.

I had not upgraded the image of the unit for almost a year and thought I would give this new whoosh build (based on openvix) a try.

I understand that a password must be set to allow connectivity, I have entered one, ensured I have saved, restarted both the network and box, but I still can't access it.

I have tried root as username, and without any username, I have left password box blank, used root and the new password I entered, but the same error occurs.

I have also disabled my firewall software in case that was causing it to not connect, but still nothing.

    Any other suggestions?

You need to set a password on the box first (in the network menu)

Anyway you wont get wooshbuild support here. You are better off flashing with openvix and see how you get on

    User = root
Pass = the password you entered on the box

Paswords are case sensitive on Unix/Linux systems.
Has the IP number of your box changed?

Wooshbuild infinity is based on Openatv not vix, it's basically a settings backup that's added on a fresh openatv image.

It shows that you don't have a root password set, after that it's anybody's guess.

I've just changed my password, and, indeed, a Samba password is also updated.

    Code:
    root@vuultimo4k:/etc/samba# ls -l private
    -rw------- 1 root root 430080 Dec 31 10:38 secrets.tdb
    -rw------- 1 root root 204 Jan 18 15:30 smbpasswd
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 80 Dec 31 10:38 users.map
    root@vuultimo4k:/etc/samba#
Flashing ViX creates a directory called /etc/samba, something you appear not to have?

Very odd, I am entering the password and clicking save. I think I will flash with a different image and see If I have more success.
