    about Trio 4k

How is the driver support on this reciever?
I see it has the same specs as OCTAGON SF8008 4K wich frequently releases driver updates and fixes.
How about zapping speed. I saw a review on the internet and there seemed to be some video slowdown and catching up when channel was changed.

Its great well supported receiver. Zapping speed is fast, ALL Hisilicon based receivers have a 1-2 second slow motion when zapping channels, its normal.

Good luck in finding one. You will need to look for a broadcom based receiver if you don’t want the slowmotion on zapping.

Why? Your SE will have 1-2 second black screen, so whats that harm of 1-2 seconds slow motion?

I have no blackscreen on most channels.
if there is a unscramble in progress it will be a bit of blackscreen...
but in what I saw on youtube for the same process you have blackscreen and slowmotion on gigablue trio.

plenty of those out there, but they cost at least twice as much without having the combo tuner included.

The UHD Trio will out perform the old 800 SE in every sense, do not worry about the slight 1-2 second slow motion on zap. I have an old 800 SE in my pile of old receivers and I can tell you for a fact it does not zap as fast or perform as fast as the UHD Trio.

    ok.
what about the drivers and fixed from manufacturer. I know they are integretated in the various images available, but I see no list from gigablue about this.
meanwhile octagon posts them on their page.
they are the same hardware, is it safe to asume they recieve the same driver fixes? would you chose trio or sf8008?

Octagon updates are mainly for marketing purposes. The Trio is well supported, similar to the SF8008. It's better supported than some receivers that are 3-4 times the cost.

so you'd recommend the gigablue trio(let's see if it will get back in stock, if it's not being replaced by the plus model that was rumoured a year ago ).
i was willing to try something new because 800se stopped getting driver updates after a few months after I purchased it and new superior models came out... kinda got burned with gigablue once, that's why I was asking about driver fixes(since there is no public list)
that's why I'm looking for something between 100-150E range. I wouldn't benefit from more expensive boxes with my setup (toroidal antenna) without making a super expensive upgrade on LNBs and everything. FBC would be good, but only on DVB-C for me... my current satellite setup would not benefit from it.
