lost recordings, backups etc again after a fw update

Just updated from 5.4.002 to 5.4.003, upon reboot it recognises hdd but thinks its empty, doesn't see any files, backups etc. Done this before a few weeks back also on a standard update scenario(albeit was on PurE2 at that time, same problem happened to others on Openvix so be mindful about update). I've re-flashed with 5.4.002 to see if that brings anything back , alas no. Just tried running filesystem check, came back with "error JBD2: Invalid checksum recovering block 110 in log Journal checksum error found in /dev/sda1/dev/sda1:9045/476960 files(4.8% non-contiguous), 218560309/488378368 blocks' Last time around I ended up re-initialising, which was silly as I knew prob would come back to haunt me!

okay that's weird, I kept rebooting, switching it off etc...then as soon as I posted the above, rebooted again and this time it said HDD half full! checked, found recordings, attempting a system restore from backup manager atm currently stuck on 83% however for a few minutes..apologies, maybe this whole post can be deleted if it recovers? or left to let others know, just keep rebooting until it finds the files...? I'll leave it like it is for another 10-15 minutes see if it restores to 100%..

Are you putting it in deep standby before switching it off?

Sounds like a critical journal file eventually reads ok and the system continues.

What's causing it is anybody's guess, but it's not that uncommon if you google it.

Ahh no wasn't switching on/off at back repeatedly, just once or twice, mostly standby from remote, the one that got it back was just a reboot. Finally got everything back. After it hung at 83% clicked ok, hadn't taken restore, so tried restore again, this time it took it! felt forced, buy hey, it's working!! Thank you as always for the immediate response, you guys are simply the best :-)

Okay, sorry about this, think it may have something to do with torrentplayer, as I did restore plugins but it's not showing, however the previous files are still there on the hdd. I've noticed it's not in the plugins to download which could explain things?

Switching off from standby is not good for it - that may corrupt the file system by itself. A enigma2 receiver is like a PC - you must shut it down fully before powering off. Standby just disables the display - the receiver is still running otherwise.

Yes, always into deep-standby before any switch off at the back :-) Loaded torrentplayer back up a-ok, so 100% back up now
