    IP 6support

    Quick question.

Does openvix support IP6, can only see IP4 in menu.

IP (v)4 is on LAN side.IP V6 is on WAN side. LAN always uses sort off ipv4 so XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX .You never set a internet address in your sat box. (the most basic explanation given )

Not correct. IP6 means that Wan and Lan floats together (no NAT translation), so that every device could be reached direct.

    My Win10 has IP6 2a00:4820:4180:1200:4593:be15:XXX:XXX.

My Zgemma H7S running OpenVIX 5.4.003 seems to have working access to IPv4 and IPv6.

I would guess most of it works fine with either but it may require access to OpenVIX servers that are only on the IPv4 Internet plus there may or may not be parts like perhaps accessing a local NAS that can't/won't work if your LAN is IPv6 only.

Ip6 support will give you direct access to the receiver without NAT or other routing tricks. Of course it require IP6 at both ends.

That much is definitely working in OpenViX on my ZGemma H7S.

But obviously you should use a stateful IPv6 firewall to provide similar protection from the Internet that IPv4 NAT provides in the IPv4 case and only allow the incoming connections that are necessary for, um, whatever weird thing it is you are doing.
