5.4.001 forward and rewind buttons do not work in timeshift

I've been trying the 5.4.001 image and noticed a strange behaviour when in timeshift.

If I rewind from current time the timeshift rewinds normally. Once. I cannot forward or rewind thereafter. An icon flashes at the top right of the screen to indicate the buttons I'm pressing have no action configured/allowed.

If I do not rewind at all, but pause, go make a cuppa and come back the timeshifted file will not rewind. Pressing 1, or 3, etc allows the timeshifted video to jump forward/backward as expected. It is the rewind and forward buttons which do not work.

I tried different skins, because the rewind icon showing up as it rewinds the fist time appear to have duplicate icons one on top of another, but the problem I describe here is common across skins.

Have you noticed the same?

I don't normally use timeshift, but if I activate it by pausing live tv I see the same as the OP.

The only buttons to work are play and pause (and stop), and the numeric jump buttons.

Maybe they partially disabled them since they never really worked very well at all.

I captured a debug log and it looks the same (similar enough).

I hope these functions have not been disabled because I use them on a daily basis.

I'll revert to 5.3.039 until the 5.4 series matures a bit.

One more observation: Pause and then slow motion does not work. The timeshifted recording will pause, will not start playing again in slow motion when the forward button is pressed.

All these buttons/functions work as expected with normal recordings, but not with timeshift. So I would assume the bug, if it is a bug rather than deliberate breakage, is related to timeshift only.

We have two more reported crash to fix, we'll ask Admin to run a Release build as soon as they are done/tested.

Not sure if this is related, but I had debug logs on when it happened last night - 5.4.001, ET10K, the above commit is not installed.

Watching a recording (which I had paused) I then used the numeric keys to skip back and forth to find where I wanted to be.

I've done this a thousand times before.

The spinner appeared (the very last entry in the log), and then nothing. I was able to reboot using telnet after about 10 minutes.

I don't recollect it happening before.
