I always use NFS mount between Enigma2 Linux boxes and with NAS-drives whitch can access NFS. Why to use Windows CIFS if you have two Linux devices?

Why to have all mounts in FSTAB? I never mount all my devices in /etc/fstab. Only internal hdd, usb-device and hdd2.
Other devices, like three Enigma2 boxes and six NFS drives are mounted as Autofs because with FSTAB it would take too long time booting the box.

I've always used CIFS because it was the only way I could get my NAS shares mounted when I first got it.
I've not noticed any appreciable difference in boot up times to be honest.

It depends what NAS drive you have. For exsample with Synology or Qnap NAS drives you have to give NFS permissions to ip adresses of your boxes.

I've got a Synology DS916+ but can't seem to see any setting to add IP addresses.

In DSM Control panel, shared folder. Click on the folder to share and edit, then NFS permissions, where you can specify the IP addresses to use the shared folder.

Still can't get it working. I will experiment later on.

In Synology Control Panel go to File Services and enable NFS.

After enabling NFS and sorting out the permissions on my shared folders on my NAS, the network folders appear to mount correctly but only open an empty directory.
CIFS works but takes up to a minute to open a directory.

EDIT: CIFS works but takes up to a minute to open a directory.
This is probably me, tried it on another receiver and it works as expected. I'll reflash the main box and try again.

Remove CIFS mount and when making NFS mount in networkbrowser answer No when it is asking username and password.

Working fine after a reflash I can't get network folders mounted with NFS for whatever reason.
I'm sticking with CIFS, it works as I want it to and allows me to change the buttons in movie browser to get to my shared drives quickly.

This is for sure a bug. Let's hope they fix it again in the next version.

Unfortunately, I have not encountered such a situation. The program has always been functioning normally.
