    Missing Channels

    Hello,

I'm unable to get some channels on my OpenVix/ABM setup and I'm not sure where the issue is. I am using ABM to provide a Sky Northern Ireland numbering EPG of Freesat and Saorsat (RTE).
The problem is that some channels such as Dave, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 etc are not tuning in. Note they are listed in my EPG as Dave HD, ITV2 HD, etc...

At present I'm not sure where the issue is so I'm not sure where to start - I was wondering if it was something to do with me selecting HD channels?

My files are attached. Please inform me of what settings are required from ABM/OpenVix to further diagnose the problem - if there is one!

    Thanks.

We need teh debug log of you running ABM. Otherwise it a million questions to establish what settings you have told ABM to use.

You have also mentioned Freesat, yet you are uploading sky 28.2 ABM files. They are two different providers, please decide which you wish to use

Okay - I forgot about this. I will upload the debug later.

The input is Freesat and Saorsat for which I use ABM to replicate the Sky EPG.

ABM creates bouquets/channel lists. It has nothing to do with EPG. Please ask EPG issues in the non-ABM section.

Freesat is a provider like Sky UK/ROI. They both transmit on 28.2 satellite. To get us back on track, which provider are you using in ABM?

    A.Sky
    B. Freesat
    C. Both Sky & Freesat

It is possible to tell ABM to create just the FreeToAir (FTA) channels for Sky UK/ROI providers.

Dave HD, ITV2 HD etc. are not Free to Air (FTA). The SD versions are FTA

Are you substituting SD channels which are free to air with HD channels that are not?
    Xtrend ET10K, 2 x satellite tuners 28.2 (Sky FTA), 2 x hybrid (UK Freeview), Zgemma H9S (satellite)

Just saw your other thread, have you resolved the switch issue? Scan using function in Enigma2 (don't use the ABM plugin) and check that you are getting 890+ services on 28.2

This is where I think it has got into a muddle. I think that I should only be using one of the Sky/Freesat providers - probably the latter.

Switch issue is still unresolved. I would like to figure out the problem there as it is still within warranty. Issue only occurred when I updated for the new transponder settings. I'm not sure if I pulled out an input cable when the switch was still powered and caused an issue or if it is a problem at the LNB.
Yes, got 913 channels (inc. Saorsat) when I done a tune.

Please perform a manual/complete scan of 28.2. If you get 890+ services, reception is fine.

ABM is a plugin. ABM does not scan, it reads the tables. This is a fundamental difference. To emphasise difference, Hypothetically speaking, if you could only receive the transponder ABM uses to do it's business, it will add all the services the provider has on its data tables even though you cannot receive almost all of them. Please leave it to one side and perform the manual scan.

We can get back to ABM issue for 28.2 after you confirm reception. However, as mentioned above, you are using FTA mode for Sky, so you cannot add what is not on the menu for you.

    Code:
    < 64244.3203> 13:54:44.5326 [ABM-config] providers:  sat_282_sky_uk:sd_northern_ireland:45:|sat_0090_saorsat::9:|sat_282_freesat:hd_freesat_113_5a:13:
    < 64244.3205> 13:54:44.5328 [ABM-config] keepbouquets:
    < 64244.3206> 13:54:44.5329 [ABM-config] add provider prefix: True
    < 64244.3207> 13:54:44.5331 [ABM-config] show in extensions menu: False
    < 64244.3209> 13:54:44.5332 [ABM-config] placement: top
    < 64244.3210> 13:54:44.5333 [ABM-config] skip services on non-configured satellites: True
    < 64244.3211> 13:54:44.5334 [ABM-config] show non-indexed: True
    < 64244.3213> 13:54:44.5336 [ABM-config] FTA_only: sat_282_sky_uk|sat_0090_saorsat|sat_282_freesat
    < 64244.3214> 13:54:44.5337 [ABM-config] schedule: False
Additionally, your receiver is not locking onto Saorsat, so ABM fails to complete. Maybe you should remove your services and manually scan Saorsat only as well.

    Code:
    < 64993.9744> 14:07:14.1867 [ABM-main][checkTunerLock] TUNING FAILED FATAL
    < 64993.9788> 14:07:14.1911 [Skin] Processing screen 'MessageBox', position=(0, 0), size=(1920 x 1080) for module 'MessageBox'.

Yes - I got over 890 channels - cannot remember exact number now.

Additionally, your receiver is not locking onto Saorsat, so ABM fails to complete. Maybe you should remove your services and manually scan Saorsat only as well.
I've updated the xml for Saorsat locally so it will work on my machine.

I modified the provider setup to only look at SD Northern Ireland and then update to HD where available and show only FTA channels. That seems to have got me Dave, ITVx, etc.
    Is this the correct approach?

There is no need for extra debug in ABM at this stage. You do not need to to Freesat provider either.

You want to run ABM to create Sky bouquets.
If you select an SD area, you will use numbers based on an SD receiver
If you select an HD area, you will use numbers based on an HD receiver.
The two numbering systems are slightly different.

Which channel numbers and names are missing. Compare to an official receiver.

I modified the provider setup to only look at SD Northern Ireland and then update to HD where available.
    I don't understand, please rephrase

The problem is that some channels such as Dave, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 etc are not tuning in. Note they are listed in my EPG as Dave HD, ITV2 HD, etc...
The channels are tuning in. They are not viewable because they are not free. I think you should be good now, post back if there is a problem.
