equipment required for FBC (DVBS2X) tuners

I currently have an Xtrend ET-10000 with 1 Inverto Twin LNB on 1M dish from about 8 years ago for 28.2E reception. I would like to upgrade to FBC tuners for more recording capability.

I know I have to get an FBC tuner capable receiver, but do I also need an FBC LNB?

I've read about the Unicable LNBs, but I'm not exactly sure what their capabilities are?

For example, if I have a Unicable Twin LNB (is this possible?), for 28.2E, and a twin FBC tuner receiver, how many channels can I record at the same time on different transponders?

What FBC LNB do you recommend? Does Inverto make these?

    Thanks.

As I understand it one Unicable LNB (with 8 or more output channels*) with one cable connected to one 8 channel FBC tuner is all you need to be able to view or record any 8 channels at once.

    * I'm not sure exactly what the peroper name for that is.

    Thanks Brian

I need to correct something in my original post.

If I get this LNB: https://geizhals.eu/inverto-idlb-qud...loc=pl&hloc=uk with my existing ET-10000 receiver with 2 DVBS2 tuners...how many channels on different transponders can I record at once?

    Thanks

Two compatable unicable tuners so two transponders

If you were going to chnage the LNB it may be a lot better to see the sponsors offerings of unicable II LNBs which have many more channels down the single cable - but then you may need multiple receivers or a reciever with FBC tuners to take full advantage.

You have a 1m dish, if it is motorised, be aware unicable is designed for fixed position.

Thanks for the info, it's a fixed dish.

The unicable2 LNBs are cheaper than the Unicable1 LNBs on the price comparison website I normally use (Geizhals.eu)...strange? I guess the only reason to buy Unicable1 is if you need legacy ports.

I'm going to get the Unicable2 because it just makes sense. I'm not really gaining anything until I get an FBC tuner capable receiver though.

Thanks again for the info/training session

You can buy Unicable II/JESS LNBs with Legacy ports too.

    Thanks for the info Andy

I can use a Unicable2 LNB and a splitter with my existing receiver (ET-10000), and the recording capabilities would be the same as with a twin "legacy" LNB...correct?
