    IS Vu+ still around? No development basically on their git (4 months from last addition), no new announcements.

    Since the Duo4K came out there has been a whole raft of new receivers with very good specs - decide what you need and look around.
    Gigablue Quad 4K & UE 4K
    .........FBC Tuners:
    ------------------> DUR-Line DCR 5-1-8-L4 Multiswitch to 1.5M dish(28.2E)
    ------------------> Spaun SUS 5581/33 NFA Multiswitch to 80 cm dish(19.2E)
    .......................> FBC & DVB-S2X into 90cm dish (27.5W) Opticum robust Unicable LNB
    AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo, Octagon SF8008 , gbtrio4k, h9se using Legacy ports on multiswitches
    Zgemma H9 C/S into Giga4K

    I just checked idealo.de and yes, Duo4k is apparently really discontinued. Ultimo 4k is new "top" STB now which is interesting ...

    In what way is it "not supported"? They committed a change a few days ago to fix an issue with Xbox USB tuners on PLI.

    People are mixing up the following:
    Manufacturer no longer making a device
    Manufacturer no longer supporting a device

    Maybe they decided that insufficient people would buy the Duo4k and dropped it as it did not make financial sense. Surely the people who already have the receiver aren't affected as they already have it?

    Almost every device has issues. Some get fixed other do not. Trouble with Vu is they usually do their stuff on on closed source images and can add E2 changes that other images won't/can't add. For example, the HDMI-In as an issue. Other receivers do not have the issue, but they are on older kernels.

    Constant driver updates are not always required. There are still people using the original Ultimo.
