Youtube pluging search - error creating entry lsit

When I click in the youtube plugin in search videos on any historic search item and afterwards ok I get the following error message:
There was an error in creating entry list!

I uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled it again but it did not help.

Do you see the same behaviour and how can this be fixed?
    Thanks for your support

You need to make your own api keys and replace the existing ones in the YouTubeUI.py to solve the problem.

This is a how to, you can stop at the kodi part, because you only need the keys

Oh gosh! The same with mine. I thought one time testing would be enough. 8 hours later the error is back again. This means: going the hard way - creating an own Youtube plugin. Never done this. Lets hope I get it right as instructed in the link.
Please cross the fingers for a newbee in programming linux plugins.

PS Temporary solution: Install MediaPortal plugin, choose Youtube and define search filter.

too complicated to build own Youtube app

Sorry chaps, I'm too stupid and got lost when I tried to build a Youtube app according to the instruction.
Are we the only ones who notice that something went wrong with the Youtube plugin?

Let's wait and hope that the plugin author will provide a fix.

Maybe you're the only ones who use it?

There's a long debate on the OpenPLi forum about the issue.

LOL, out of all the peeps that use vix i cant believe for a min that only 3 of us use YouTube plugin.
Whenever i think of something YouTube is my goto while using my Ultimo or any other E2 box.
The smart TV version is painful in comparison IMO

I have the same issue with my VU+ Duo 4k when I try to use the Youtube plugin the message is "there was an error in creating an entry list. I've done the same as you guys by removing the plugin and reinstalling it.

This has only happened after installing the latest Openvix 5.3.019

If I revert back to 5.3.018 the Youtube plugin works fine, so I'm assuming it's an issue with the latest version.

Guys it really only takes a few minutes to follow the link posted by Past2Present to the tutorial in post 3 to create your own API key, client id & client secret.

If your struggling your happy to use mine

    ftp to usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/YouTube

and send over YouTubeUi.pyo file overwriting the existing file.

Please make sure that there is no YouTubeUi.py present (If the answer is yes please delete it)
    exit and reboot your receiver

YouTube should now be functional again.
