Using Unicable + TV/Satellite signal combiner

    Hi all,

Is it possible to have setup like below..... In short

Cable from aerial and cable from Satellite (LNB Unicable) goes to TV/Satellite combiner like this.
From there one cable goes to the input of satellite signal slitter with DC pass through like here.
From there one cable from every output with combined signal goes to another TV/Satellite combiner/splitter like in the first link and from there two cables to the TV (one for terrestrial and one for satellite signal). One of satellite recievers on the TVs end is Unicable compatible so that signal needs to by Unicable compatible.

Please see the drawing below. Will this work as per drawing?

Thank you in advance for any help.

    Radek

Nobody knows? Really? Not sure how many cables I should be preparing in my installation so I'm stuck.

I don't know if that particular setup will work. But you do get unicable switches/matrices that allow for terrestrial input. You then use a faceplate to split them.

    Very good diagram BTW.

As Abu has said you do get Unicable switches such as the DUR-line DCR 5-2-4-K which takes both a terrestial input and satellite (via a Quad/quattro LNB) output are 8 unicable SCR plus 4 legacy outputs
Also Spaun do a complete selection of switches ....

However these switches are not usually that cheap.

I currently use a mixture of unicable switches connected to Quattro LNB‘S and a separate unicable LNB
    Gigablue Quad 4K & UE 4K
    .........FBC Tuners:
    ------------------> DUR-Line DCR 5-1-8-L4 Multiswitch to 1.5M dish(28.2E)
------------------> Spaun SUS 5581/33 NFA Multiswitch to 80 cm dish(19.2E)
    .......................> FBC & DVB-S2X into 90cm dish (27.5W) Opticum robust Unicable LNB
    AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo, Octagon SF8008 , gbtrio4k, h9se using Legacy ports on multiswitches
    Zgemma H9 C/S into Giga4K

Thanks guys. The reason for my approach is that I already have Unicable LNB (with two legacy outputs) so wanted to connected it using this. I don't have Quad/Quattro LNB.

I have a couple of diplexers in a box somewhere in the loft. I'll try and test for you in a few days.

Hi, Did you have a chance to look into it a bit more? To run some tests?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Thank you so much.

So does this mean the setup from my drawing above is exactly how it will work? Unicable signal (recording multiple channels with one cable) will be still received at the end?

    Radek

I set it up exactly as in the diagram apart from number of clients. I used two devices, both worked independently. I didn't test recordings, but that should be fine.

It would be good to know if you get it working with the cheap eBay items from your original post, thanks.

Looks OK to me but I think receivers 2 and 3 would receive a Unicable feed rather than legacy satellite.

    Well spotted.

Yes, input is unicable so all subsequent splits will be unicable.
