    Edision Low SR?

    Hi All,

Just bought this receiver instead of Octagon. Read online that the receiver does not support Sr of less than 1000. Is this still the case? I need to pick up channels from 21.5 east and some channels have symbol rate of 255. Example: 11599 H SR 255 3/4

    Thanks

Try it - never heard of this issue - usually its the very high values that may have an issue on some receivers.

According to the tuner spec returned by delsys the tuners of neither of these receivers are capable of 255 symbol rate. Also there are no DTH tv channels with that symbol rate, only radio channels. What is your "need to pick these up"?

if true only radio channels with that SR.
In theory if the entire range is included ..... (see range SR).

By the way on that frequency from my area is not able to capture that radio channel.

Just because it says it doesn't mean it will do it.

Exactly, that's why I said that in "theory" I don't know if you understand the expression.

I have also seen Vu + tuners without capabilities for the FEC 8/9 range only until 7/8, however this does not impact anything and if they capture any service in that FEC range.

That box won't scan anything below 800 in my experience and cut-off for blindscan driver is 2000.

No, I mean in the Edison blindscan binary, unless they have changed it again.

The plugin has a bottom limit of 1000, but there is a tolerance built in so will go to 800 at a push... but only if the manufacturer's binary supports this.

But it it is impossible to see what the manufacturer's binary includes because it is closed source code... so every man and his dog just blames the plugin when the plugin really has nothing to do with it. The plugin just runs the filters selected by the user in the GUI. Anything returned by the manufacturer's binary outside the filtered range specified by the user is dumped. But if the manufacturer's binary fails to return something inside the filtered range that is the fault of the binary, not the plugin.

there is nothing to change on the Edision blindscan.
In February 2019 here is the result of blindscan with a Mio4K.
You see it finds up to a sr of 1000

    Edision Low SR?

Are you categorically stating the binary has not changed?

If so, how have you compared/confirmed this?

@stephan94, with the current ViX 5.3.015 release image, żis it scanning multi-stream and T2MI correctly? Does it play T2MI correctly? Has the tuner blocking bug gone?

Thanks for replies all. I havnt been able to test yet as I had an issue with Stab motor, so replacement coming today. I was scanning 21.5 before but always had no signal, thought could be issue with low SR but recently found motor not tracking properly. Am i right in thinking anything lower than 1000 will not work on blindscan but will work on manual scan?
