Is a reformat = erase all info?
Or you ment to mount it and as said before powered is better.

    h7c external hdd

ViX does not include exfat and NTFS drivers by default. If your device is in this file system, you need to install the drivers first.

As above, best to use a powered HDD or powered hub.

I wanted to ask. I plan on buying a large external HDD to store all my 4k movies. If i insert this into my DUO4k. Can i initialise it so that it is just has good as internal HDD?
So i can still share the HDD with other enigma 2 receivers, i can still share via samba?

    THanks

Yes internal or externally powered i can access my recordings on any box.
4K movies might have to be viewed on 4K suitable equipment to get the better effect and i use Samba.
