Is Openvix 5.2 the final release for the GB Quad?

I can only find Openvix 5.2 available for download from the official site, no version 5.3.

Is it planned to release a 5.3 build for the Quad, or are we stuck on 5.2?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Not really

As with previous images, the main differences are core of the image or the OE (Open Embedded). This has undergone a lot of changes, updates and fixes.

CrossEPG is no longer pre-installed in OpenViX 5.3. OpenTV EPG has now been embedded, EPG Refresh is now pre-installed to enabled re-freshing or EPG data for Sky UK Astra 28.2deg and Sky Italia Hotbird 13deg. See EPG Refresh setup guide HERE (thanks to Abu Baniaz for the guide). Thank you goes to LraiZer for the OpenTV code and thank you Huevos for merging the code into OpenViX.

Apart from the above users should not notice many other differences between previous OpenViX 5.2 and OpenViX 5.3 (i.e. there are not many functional differences.).
So unless any of the above effects you then 5.2 will serve you well for a while yet...if not years.

    Ive not updated yet.
5.2 is working fine for me.

I have a GB Quad as well. It's ok to stay with 5.2 for the future if the current functions are working fine.
Of course is a bit sad to see that it's not supported anymore. I understand due to unavailable developer who can keep alive and test etc.
And there is no alternative image which still support it? Thanks

All older boxes and many models have been removed from the server to save money and space as many were caught out not having backups or might have to go the OpenAtv route ?? i tried it and want Vix all the way.
The only boxes left are the ones listed on the image page.

No, and there are no feeds. What good is an image without feeds?

You need to get the authors of your favourite plugins to update them.

Soon all images will be Python 3.
